I have taught medical and postgraduate students frequently. I have lectured on a variety of neurological topics at Bristol, to the Diploma of Medicine students at The Hammersmith and The National Hospitals. In August 1993 I was invited to the University of St. Vincent in the West Indies to teach physical diagnosis to the medical students. I was sponsored by the ABN to teach neurology at Mulago Hospital in Uganda, Kumasi in Ghana, Gabarone in Botswana, Kathmandu, Nepal and Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. I was neurology training programme director for the Nottingham Neurology Trainees for four years. I co-edited “Fifty Neurological Cases from the National Hospital” with Professor CD Marsden, which has been used as a teaching aid for undergraduate and postgraduate students. I have been awarded an MMedSci in Clinical Education and I was an examiner for MRCP PACES (one of the few Neurologists who held this position). I was a member of the Undergraduate Medical Education Committee at QMC. I was Director of Medical Education at QMC for 10 years. I was a member of various educational groups at the Royal College of Physicians. I was a Board member and Secretary for the RCP Specialty Question Group (SQG) and the RCP Regional Advisor for Mid-Trent. In 2012, in recognition of my teaching contribution, I was awarded the title of Honorary Clinical Associate Professor by The University of Nottingham. I have been a clinical lead for e-brain for five years; I have produced animated teaching packages, as well as educational podcasts and one to one interviews with patients and Neuro-Scientists.
