Experience
Actively involved in medico-legal practice since 1998 as a General Neurologist and Stroke Physician.
- Approximately 100 reports per year — 50% plaintiff, 50% defendant
- Registered on the Expert Witness and AVMA Registers
- Court experience including 8-hour cross-examination at The Courts of Justice, The Strand
- Contributing author (Neurology) to Clinical Negligence, Sixth Edition (Powers and Barton)
Fees
| Hourly rate | £400 + VAT |
| Average report fee | £1,200–2,000 + VAT |
| Court attendance | £3,200 + VAT per day (including travel) |
| Late settlement (<7 days before trial) | £800 + VAT |
| Cancellation (<48 hrs notice) | £3,200 + VAT |
| Client no-show | £400 + VAT |
Supplementary questions arising from omissions are answered gratis. Additional work beyond the original instructions is charged at the standard hourly rate. Unpaid invoices beyond 8 weeks accrue interest at 2.5% per month plus recovery costs.
Appointments
- Monday evenings at 5 pm — The Nottingham Treatment Centre, NG7 2FT (Gateway A, QMC campus)
- Accessible by tram; parking usually available but not free
- A chaperone (friend or family member) must accompany the client
- Reports delivered within 10 working days
- Domiciliary visits available — longer waiting list; charged at the same hourly rate including travel time
